Is it better than the first Guardians film or does it fall victim to the sequel curse. Willie also makes the argument for why this Guardians movie hinges entirely on Rocket stealing the batteries and why that one story plot makes him frustrated as a viewer. Plus, we make our Vol. 3 predictions but unfortunately Willie’s going to have to revisit them after seeing other MCU movies first and why didn’t a single person see this random blue plant planted in the ground for 34 years?!?

Curtis Laraque joins us this week to talk about House Party and how this movie perfectly captures what life was like post 80s into the early 90s, and a lot of things have changed. Unfortunately, there are some things that haven’t, including many instances of police brutality that are featured in this film. Plus, Kid’s dad has a great dynamic with his son and we go over how amazing their relationship is and we present the case for why the last 20 minutes of the movie are not only not necessary but just felt like an opportunity to stretch the movie duration.

Does this hinder the watch for a first time viewer? Plus, all the aliens are named John including the females, we discuss why that detail wasn’t important for the movie’s storytelling but also could’ve indicated how ahead of it’s time it was when it came to gender identity and does the license plate on the test vehicle mean it was the 88th test run or is there a hidden music reference instead?

While this story may be a very simple story to follow, we explain why it’s still a fantastic story and why sometimes the best movies are often the simple ones. Plus, find out the one scene in this movie that completely messes with the flow of the story, seems out of place and leaves both of us scratching our heads on why it’s included and there seems to be a very glaring plot hole in one of the Mogwai rules, when can the Mogwai eat again after midnight has passed?
